This exhibition space takes you on a journey through Barcelona's medical and healthcare history, from the first unifed hospital in 1401 to La Santa Creu in the 21st Century. Explore display cases of medical artecfacts and learn more about Recinte Modernista Sant Pau's heritage collection.

The complex:

Journey through the history of the urban development in Barcelona during the 20th century with this renovated complex of 12 buildings. The old hospital buildings dated back to the 15th century, but it was modernist Catalan architect Domènech i Montaner who restored it as a cultural centre. Now a museum, its exhibitions aim to educate visitors about the former institution and its contribution to modern medicine. Walk through the Pavilions which have been lovingly restored to their former glory with colourful tiles and mosaics, and don’t miss their exhibitions either.
