Did you know

- Iberian jamón, or Jamón Ibérico, should – by legislation – be made from black Iberian pigs, or cross-bred pigs as long as they are at least 50% ibérico

- Prosciutto takes between nine months and two years to cure, whereas jamón serrano requires between seven and 14 months and jamón ibérico requires at least two years

- Traditionally, Spanish families butchered their pigs in the winter during a festivity called the matanza

The Experience:

The Jamón Experience is a great way to appreciate one of Catalan’s best delicacies. Sample 6 different varieties of hand carved jamón paired with your choice of wine, cava, beer or a soft drink. You’ll be taken on this incredible audio visual tour through an interactive exhibition designed by Dani Freixas, a renowned architect, which will explain the jamon process and methodology.

Next you’ll be taken through to the tasting table where you’ll be able to sample the six different types of jamón, Reserve, Iberian, Huelva, Extremadura, Guijuelo and Valle de los Pedroches, before seeing 500m2 of jamón in the famous exhibition and ‘flagship jamón store’
